Ruth's signet ring

Ruth came to have a design appointment with us because she wanted a signet ring made for herself.

She came with her husband to meet with Jo, one of the designers, to discuss signet rings and what styles she liked.

The signet ring was for her little finger, so we looked at different options of shape and size to see what compliment her best.

Ruth wanted her ring to be made in white gold and to have a diamond set into the ring.

Once the design was done, it was time for our goldsmith, Behzad, to make the ring in our workshop.

Behzad started by carving out of wax the shaped of the ring, which was then imprinted into clay to create a mould for the molten metal.

Once the rough cast has been made it needs to be finished, so Behzad files and polishes to get the finished ring ready to have the diamond set.

Once the diamond is set and hallmarked, the ring was then polished and rhodium plated to give the perfect shine. It was then ready for Ruth to collect.

Ruth was really pleased when she collected her ring and looks forward to wearing and enjoying it!
