Romany's engagement ring alteration
Romany came and saw Jo, one of our designers, as she wanted to alter her Engagement ring.
They discussed reworking the ring by melting her gold and recreating the ring entirely.
At this point we discovered that Romany loved her ring and it was actually only the setting that she wasn’t completely happy with.
Romany’s ring was in very good condition and the shank of the ring was a great weight and thickness.
Jo suggested that instead of melting the ring and starting from new, we could replace the collet which holds her lovely diamond .
A rubover setting would make the ring more contemporary and work better for Romany’s taste and lifestyle.
So, the ring went to the workshop and Behzad, our talented goldsmith, created a new setting using Romany’s own metal. When his work was done then the diamond was reset and the ring was given a good clean and polish all by hand.
The finished result looked incredible and it really showcased the colour and sparkle from Romany’s diamond and gave a stunning new look to the ring.
Romany was very happy with her “new” engagement ring. She just needed her partner, Richard, to pop to question and make it official!
Which he did on a weekend away.
