Richard's wedding band

Richard and Mandy came to see Jo, one of the designers to design their new wedding rings

They had a good idea of what they both wanted and that they knew wanted a piece designed using platinum.

So we discussed what was important to them what they would like the rings to look like.

During the design appointment Richard mentioned that sadly he had lost his parents, so at this point we took the journey in a different direction.

Memories are so important, so Jo suggested placing Richard’s parents ashes into his platinum band, and this had a big impact. This also changed Mandy’s ideas for her ring, as she had gold that she wanted to us to use as it was very sentimental to her.

The final design for Richards ring was a platinum band with a finish on the band the would be polished and given a satin finish to add contrast.

We then invited Richard to come in with his parents ashes and be part of making his ring and placing the ashes into the metal…

Richard spent time in the workshop with our goldsmith, Behzad. Choosing to watch the platinum be melted and then added in the ashes to the metal. Leaving him with a platinum pellet ready to be made into a new ring,

It was time to start forming Richard’s band…

After the band was made we had Richard test the size to make sure it was the perfect fit for him, once we were all happy it was time to send to be hallmarked and have the finish added to the ring.

When the ring was all finished Richard and Mandy came in to collect the new wedding rings.

Richard walked away with a new stunning wedding ring but with also having part of his parents with him every day and to be treasured forever!
