Mary
Mary’s husband had his wedding ring made by Petra many years ago.
Sadly, he recently passed away. Mary came to see us because he had his wedding ring and signet ring that he wore every day and she didn’t want them to be sat in a drawer unloved and unworn.
She had a good idea of the design that she wanted, which she explained to our designer Natalie.
Due to the complexity of the design, hand making it just wasn’t an option. So we decided to get a computer aided design done, which creates a mould to set the gold into.
Once Mary was happy with the final design, we got straight to work making the ring.
The ring wasn’t due to be ready until the end of September, however we managed to get it ready early. As fate would have it, the day we got it back and Natalie phoned Mary to let her know, it was actually Mary’s 51st wedding anniversary!
This is such a beautiful example of the types of designs we love to do. The intricate detailing gives the ring a stunning finish, but it is also thick enough to hold its shape perfectly.
Mary was absolutely over the moon with her ring. There were tears shed by all involved during the collection, and there was even enough gold left over for Mary’s daughter to have a piece made from the gold as well!
