So, I’ve been asked what was my favourite piece I designed and had made this year. This is so hard, I have enjoyed every design appointment that I’ve had this year and every single person that I’ve met, each came with a different story and a different piece of jewellery that they want either transformed or created for them so it’s been hard for me to choose, and I don’t know what one stands out the most because there are so many, but I’ve selected just a handful that stood out in lots of different ways and these are some of my favourite pieces from this year.

Cathy

I loved designing this emerald ring, as I sourced the stone from one of our wonderful suppliers and I got in a couple options to choose from and Cathy chose the perfect emerald that she loved the most. We used her gold that was sentimental to her and we created the most beautiful ring.

Anne

Anne came to see me as she had lost her centre stone from her engagement ring. We looked at lots of different options, whether to put a different stone in to look at the setting, or find Anne a ruby to match the stone that was missing. Anne made the right call and chose a stunning ruby which we set into a more modern rubover setting. The finished piece looked incredible and Anne loves wearing her ring again.

Sue

Sue came to see me because she had googled hinged rings and discovered that we could make her a bespoke hinged ring using her old jewellery. So with this, we took her metal and all her stunning diamonds and created a ring with a hinge that she could wear and take on and off when she needed to. She was over the moon with it, it catches the eye of anyone in the room and I’ve got to say it really does sparkle!

Rik and Kim

Rik and Kim came to see me at the end of 2022, wanting bespoke wedding rings using their metal. I invited them along to a workshop experience so they came in together and they got to make part of crafting their rings, they selected the perfect stones. We finished up the rings with a few diamonds ready for an absolutely incredible wedding this year, a big congratulations to them both!

Heather

Heather came with her daughter to see me. She had her late husband’s wedding ring. She wanted to have something done to it but wished to keep it how it was as much as possible. So with this, I designed a teardrop pendant that meant just re-shaping the original wedding ring and keeping all the original engraving and hallmark inside. We then popped it onto a chain, and as she also had a pearl that she wanted to add to it and so with her design, we created a charm that could be removed at any time. This made the pendant universal, so this meant she can have her husband with her all the time and could be worn with or without her pearl.

Mandy

Mandy has had a few pieces of stunning jewellery made from her unworn pieces. I am so lucky to say that the journey has continued over the year and Mandy has become a familiar face in the shop that we are always delighted to see. I would say the piece that that stood out the most was a twisted torque bangle set with her stones. It compliments all her jewellery and the two tones look stunning.

Faith

Faith came to see me as she wanted to use some of her gold that was her late father’s to have a ring made to fit her little finger, but also incorporate some white metal. We decided to use platinum so it would go with all her jewellery and it would be a ring she could wear every day. This was such a simple piece of jewellery, but I absolutely love it because it has so much meaning behind it, as well as how lovely it looks.

Linda

Linda, came to our Diamond event where she learnt a lot about diamonds, and at this point, she decided that she wanted to use her late husband jewellery to make herself a pendant and treat herself to a stunning diamond so, we got in some diamonds for her to see and she chose a beautiful pear cut diamond and with this, we used her husband’s gold and designed a perfect pendant for her to show off the gold and her new diamond.
