Janet's ruby necklace
Janet came to see Rosie for a Ruby design experience as she had a special anniversary coming up.
She wanted a special necklace to wear made with gold and rubies. During our initial chat, we discussed designs and colours of rubies. Janet had a small swatch of colours that she liked which we then used to get some beautiful rubies in!
We gave the swatches to our gemstone supplier and then sat down to have a look at some rubies and pick out the ones Janet wanted in her necklace!
The design was going to be a solid chain with rubover set rubies set along the front part of the necklace.
Janet came in and picked out some rubies that she liked the colour of and we played around with the layout. She liked the alternating arrangement of oval and octagonal cut stones.
Once the stones were picked, and the chain that they would sit on was chosen, it was time for the goldsmith to make the rubover settings and assemble the necklace.
The pendant is so elegant and is such a special piece!
