Jackie's spinel brooch

Jackie came to Petra Jewellery looking to have her existing pendant made into a brooch, however as the piece was costume we had to come up with a solution for making her something new.

Jackie spoke with one of our design team, Abi and went through some options for how she would like her new brooch created.

They looked at some different gemstone options together. Jackie knew she wanted a green stone set into the brooch, so after looking at a couple of different options she selected a beautiful cushion cut green spinel.

Jackie was also keen to have the piece made with a gold element so chose a design that featured a 9ct yellow gold element set above the silver base of the brooch.

So it was time to get to work!

Behzad handmade a silver base structure and 9ct yellow gold decorative piece to be set with cubic zirconias. You can see in the images below the process the piece goes through in the workshop.

Once the pendant was finished in the workshop it was sent to our expert setters to have stones grain set into the 9ct yellow gold and Jackie’s spinel into the silver collet.

Once it was all set… it was time to get Jackie in to see her finished brooch!

And she loved it!

The beautiful green gemstone catches the light beautifully and Jackie was thrilled to have a unique piece that she can wear and one day pass down to the next generation.
